Indian Navy Recruitment: The Indian Navy has recently released 3 official notifications for the online application form for Agniveer(SSR), Agniveer(MR), and Agniveer SSR(Med).

Interested candidates can apply online from 14 March 2026. Read this blog post to the end to get all the information, including the last date, qualifications, age limit, selection process, examination fee, and more.

Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment Overview:

Indian Navy Agniveer Eligibility Criteria

The Indian Navy mentions some eligibility criteria that you must fulfill to become a member of the Indian Navy Agniveer Jawan:

Indian Navy Education Qualifications:

To become an Indian Navy Agniveer jawan, a candidate must fulfill the given education qualifications criteria-

For Agniveer(SSR) – 01/2027 and 02/2027 batch:

Candidates must be qualified in 10+2 with mathematics & physics with a minimum 50% marks.

or

a three-year diploma course in engineering with a minimum 50% marks.

or

Two years of vocational course with a non-vocational subject, viz., physics and mathematics, with a minimum 50% marks(Note: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th board exam of 2025-26 are also eligible to apply).

For Agniveer (MR) – 01/2027 and 02/2027 batch:

The candidate must have passed the matriculation (10th) examination with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates appearing for the 12th board exam in 2025-26 are also eligible to apply.

For Agniveer SSR(Med) – 02/2027 batch:

The candidate must have qualified the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates who are appearing in the Class 12th Board Exam of the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply.

Indian Navy Age Limit:

  • Agniveer (SSR & MR) 01/2027 Batch: Candidate should be born between 01 Dec 2004 and 31 May 2009 (Both dates inclusive).
  • Agniveer (SSR & MR) 02/2027 Batch: Candidate should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 Oct 2009 (Both dates inclusive).

Note: – Candidates born between 01 Dec 2004 and 31 Oct 2009 are eligible to apply for INET 2026. Further, candidates shall be eligible for the Stage II recruitment process of the respective batch as per the age criteria shown above.

  • Agniveer SSR (Med) 02/2027 Batch: Candidate should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 Oct 2009 (Both dates inclusive).

Note:- Candidates born between 01 May 2005 and 31 Oct 2009 are eligible to apply for INET 2026. Further, candidates shall be eligible for the Stage II recruitment process of the respective batch as per the age criteria shown above.

Indian Navy Marital Status:

The Indian Navy made some strict rules about marital status for an Agniveer. In the Indian Navy, only unmarried male & female Indian candidates are eligible for enrolment as Agniveer.

Candidates will have to give a certificate of being ‘unmarried’ at the time of enrolment. Agniveer shall not be permitted to marry during their entire tenure of four years.

A candidate shall be dismissed from service if he/ she marries during his/her tenure or is found to be already married despite giving a certificate of being unmarried.

Service Duration of the Indian Navy Agniveer:

Agniveer will be enlisted in the Indian Navy under the Navy Act 1957, for a period of four years. “Agniveer will form a separate rank, different from any other existing rank, and will be the most junior rank in the Indian Navy”.

Beyond the four-year engagement period, the Indian Navy is not obliged to retain Agniveer.

30 days of leave per annum shall apply to Agniveer. In addition, sick leave shall apply subject to the medical advice of a competent medical authority.

Pay, Allowances, and Other Allied Benefits of an Agniveer SSR and MR

Agniveer will be given a package of ₹30,000 per month with fixed increments per annum. Moreover, risk and hardship, dress and travel allowances will be paid.

A stipend of ₹ 14,600/- per month will be admissible during the initial training period. After successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 (₹ 21,700- ₹ 69,100) of the Defense Pay Matrix. In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- plus DA (as applicable) per month.

The promotion possibilities are up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e., Level 8 of Defense Pay Matrix (₹ 47,600- ₹ 1,51,100) plus MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).

Promotion to Commissioned Officer is also available for those who perform well, qualify for the prescribed examinations, and clear the Service Selection Board.
